The Roman Catholic branch church Eisenberg an der Pinka is in the village of Eisenberg an der Pinka (Hungarian: " Csejke "; Croatian: " Čjeka ") in the municipality of Deutsch Schützen-Eisenberg in the Güssing district in Burgenland . The branch church of the parish church Deutsch Schützen , consecrated to St. James the Elder , belongs to the Deanery of Güssing in the Diocese of Eisenstadt . The church is a listed building .
history
The church was built in 1750/51 by master mason Johann Wurch from Rechnitz . In 1936 it was expanded.
architecture
The Jakobuskirche is a single-nave rectangular building with a transept-like extension and a flat closed choir. In the west, the tower is integrated with a pointed helmet. The interior has a barrel vault . Under the tower is a two-storey, three-axis gallery. There is a beamed ceiling in the newer transept and a stucco ceiling in the chancel.
Furnishing
The baroque high altar was built around 1750. It is a structure with Corinthian pilasters and free columns. The essay was simplified in 1936. The altarpiece of St. James was painted by JB Rannacher in 1750. Above it is a cartouche with the Batthyány coat of arms and restoration dates. To the side of it are carved figures of Saints Francis Xavier and Donatus .
