Parish Church German Schützen

The Roman Catholic parish church Deutsch Schützen is located in the cadastral parish Deutsch Schützen in the municipality of Deutsch Schützen-Eisenberg ( Croatian : Livio-Čjeka , Hungarian : Németlövő-Csejke ) in the Oberwart district in Burgenland . It is dedicated to the feast of Mary's name and belongs to the Deanery of Güssing . The branch church Eisenberg an der Pinka is assigned to it.

history

The parish already existed in the Middle Ages. The elevation to the parish was renewed in 1741. The church was built between 1933 and 1938 according to plans by Dionysius Kopfensteiner. Before that, Martinskirche was a parish church in the old town center. In 1977 today's parish church underwent an interior renovation for the first time.

Architecture and equipment

The altar

The church is a large building in Romanesque shapes. The altar is neo-Gothic and comes from the monastery of the Sisters of Mercy in Graz . The pulpit was designed by Karl Holey . The organ was built by Franz Ullmann in 1853. It comes from the former Franciscan monastery in Güssing .
