Jonas Rimantas Glemža

Jonas Rimantas Glemža (born March 20, 1935 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian architect and was vice minister of culture of the Lithuanian SSR .

Life

After graduating from high school, he completed his diploma in architecture at the Kauno politechnikos institutas in 1959 and received his doctorate as a candidate in architectural science in 1974 . Until 1986 he was Vice Minister at the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania . From 1992 to 1994 he worked as an architect . From 1972 he taught at the Lietuvos dailės institutas (from 1990 Vilniaus dailės akademija ) and from 1999 to 2003 he headed the chair for monument protection at the VDA. He has been a professor since 2003 .

From 1979 to 1985 he headed the association Lietuvos tautodailininkų sąjunga .
