Jonas Zohore Bergstedt (born July 6, 1991 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish basketball player .

career

Zohore played as a youth in the youth division of the Hørsholm Basketball Club and made his debut in the Danish first division for the men's team called 79ers . He moved to the Spanish fourth division club Espacio Torrelodones in 2010, where he was under contract until 2012. In the 2012/13 season he had two short stays at Nevezis Kedainiai in Lithuania and then at ETHA Engomis in Cyprus . Zohore returned to his home country and joined the Danish first division club Horsens IC , for which he scored an average of 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in 38 games during the 2013/14 season and then from the basketball news service eurobasket.com as Center of the year and best Danish player of the season.

For the 2014/15 game year he moved within the Danish league from Horsens to the Bakken Bears . In the championship final he lost with Bakken against his previous club from Horsens in the spring. Zohore scored 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per encounter during the season and also competed with Bakken in the European club competition EuroChallenge .

After two years in the domestic league, the inside player went abroad again. For the 2015/16 season he accepted an offer from the Belgian first division club Okapi Aalstar . At Aalstar, the Dane was much less effective in attack than before in the Danish league and scored 3.2 points per game. That changed with his next stop, the Swiss national league team SAM Basket Massagno , for which he competed in 2016/17. In the main round, mean values ​​of 15.6 points and 9.5 rebounds were recorded for Zohore in 20 games.

In August 2017 he signed a contract with the Italian second division club Bergamo Basket, where he scored 11.8 points per game in twelve league games, but was dismissed in March 2018 because the team's sporting management wanted to sign another player in Zohore's position. By the end of the season he strengthened the Serbian first division club KK Dynamic Belgrade.

In the 2018/19 season, the Dane initially played briefly for the Hungarian first division club Egis Körmend, before moving to Tehetseges Fiatalok Budapest within the league and scoring 13.7 points and 9.6 rebounds per game at the capital city club. At the end of August 2019 he was signed by the Bulgarian first division club Rilski Sportist Samokow . In Bulgaria he scored 12.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per encounter during the 2019/20 season. At the end of July 2020, Zohore was signed by the Spanish fourth division club HLA Alicante.

National team

Zohore participated with the Danish national teams in two U18 and U20 B European championships. At the U20-B-EM in the summer of 2011 he led the Danish team with 22.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per encounter. In the Danish men's national team he was also a top performer.
