Jonathan Levin

Jonathan Levin (born November 17, 1972 ) is an American economist . He is Professor of Economics at Stanford University . Levin received the John Bates Clark Medal in 2011 .

Life

Levin studied English (BA, 1994) and Mathematics (BS, 1994) at Stanford University. In 1996 he completed his M.Phil. in Economics from Oxford University . He received his PhD in economics from MIT in 1999 . After a postdoc at Yale University , he has been a professor at Stanford since 2000. In 2014 he was accepted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

Levin's research area is industrial organization and in particular the design of market institutions and the economics of contracts and organizations. He has also done research on sub-prime markets , health insurance and internet markets .
