Jong Il-gwan ( Hangul : 정 일관, Hancha : 鄭 日 冠, born October 30, 1992 ) is a North Korean soccer player who was last under contract with FC Luzern in the Swiss Super League .

Career

He started his club career at Rimyongsu SG , where he has played since then. On October 24, 2010, he was voted AFC Youth Player of the Year . Because of his talent, well-known European clubs such as Partizan Belgrade , Newcastle United or PSV Eindhoven were interested in his commitment, but there was no change.

On July 7, 2017, Jong Il-gwan moved to FC Luzern, where he signed a contract until the end of June 2019. Jong Il-gwan made his debut on August 6, 2017 in a 2-2 home game against Grasshopper Club Zurich in the Swiss Super League , where he scored his first championship goal fifteen minutes after being substituted on.

On February 14, 2018, Jong Il-gwan was loaned from FC Luzern to FC Wil in the Challenge League until the end of June 2018 .

National team

Jong first drew international attention at the 2010 U-19 Asian Cup . With his country he won the tournament and was voted the best player of the tournament. Particularly noteworthy is his hat-trick in the final against Australia, which North Korea won 3-2.

Jong has been an integral part of the senior national team since 2011 . At the 2015 East Asian Cup he scored two goals against Guam , North Korea won the game 5-1.
