Life

Reinke grew up from 1969 in the Lower Saxony district town Rotenburg (Wümme) as the first child of the graduate engineer and vocational school teacher Hans Reinke (1936–2002) and his wife Inge Reinke (* 1935). After graduating from the Ratsgymnasium in 1984 and doing community service in a hospital, he studied theology at the university and at the theological seminar in Hamburg (graduated in 1992). In September 1994 he completed his doctoral examination at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of Leuven with magna cum laude .

Reinke was a pastor in the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany for a total of 14 years , including in Bremerhaven, in Hückeswagen in Oberberg and in Herne . On the occasion of the 200th birthday of the church's founder, Johann Gerhard Oncken (1800–1884), Reinke conceived and created a traveling exhibition on the subject of “ Baptism in Germany”. In 2001, together with Dieter Rauer, he started the “Islandtafel” ( panel work ) in Hückeswagen.

In 2008 he moved to Langen in Hesse and switched to teaching .

Reinke is the older brother of the art historian Frauke Reinke-Wöhl.

politics

In the summer of 2004, Reinke was appointed the first political representative of the North Rhine-Westphalian church associations of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany and as such was accredited by the state parliament and state government. In this function, he represented various free churches to the state parliament and state government in North Rhine-Westphalia until the end of 2008 and, among other things, successfully advocated that the media no longer only spoke of "the two Christian churches in Germany".

From March 2016 to September 2019 he represented the LINKE in the city parliament of the southern Hessian city of Langen. In the mayoral election on March 1, 2020, Reinke, who ran as an independent candidate, received six percent approval. He is currently active as a free member of the city council. He is also a member of the youth welfare committee of the Offenbach district.

Positions

According to a taz report from 2007, Reinke is said to be a skeptic of the theory of evolution . He also advocates a “family policy that is true to the Bible”. In terms of local politics, he campaigns for more local climate protection, a better social infrastructure and more intermunicipal cooperation in the western Offenbach district. He is demanding that the Hessian state government assume all of the costs for preschool childcare.
