Jorge Contreras , full name Jorge Walter Contreras Rodríguez , (born September 21, 1971 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.82 meter tall, "Loco" goalkeeper called Contreras was at the beginning of his career in 1993 with the first division club Atlético Cerro under contract. In the following two years he played in the Segunda División for Uruguay Montevideo . He then moved to Juventud within the second-highest Uruguayan league . He was active for the club from Las Piedras until 1999. In the Apertura 2000, a station in Paraguay at Club Guaraní followed . In the Clausura 2000 he was back in the ranks of Juventuds. In the 2001 season, Danubio FC was his employer. In 2002, at least in the Torneo Clasificatorio, a renewed engagement at Juventud followed. In the Apertura 2003 he played after his return to Cerro, the club where he started his career, 17 games in the Primera División . For the Montevideans he also played in the following seasons including the Apertura 2005. In the 2006/07 season he was Juventuds player for the fourth time in his professional career. He then joined the then second division Racing from Apertura 2007 . The statistics show him 118 first division appearances at the club, which is also based in Montevideo, in the seasons 2009/10 to 2013/14 (2009/10: 24 games / 0 goals; 2010/11: 29/0; 2011/12: 24/0 ; 2012/13: 15/0; 2013/14: 26/0). He also played eight times in the 2010 Copa Libertadores . In September 2014, the now 43-year-old and at that time the oldest active professional football player in Uruguay, who is also now a grandfather, announced that he intended to continue his career until he was 45 years old. In the 2014/15 season he was used 25 times in the top Uruguayan league. During the 2015/16 season he was used in 30 first division games. Subsequently, Contreras' contract with Racing was not extended by the club.
