Jorge Gomez de Parada
Jorge Gómez de Parada Buch (* 1885 in Mexico ; † January 1965 in Mexico) is considered the first Mexican football player in history.
biography
Jorge Gómez de Parada's book comes from an old Mexican family. He came into contact with football while studying architecture in England . When he was back in Mexico, he was hired by Reforma AC , with whom he was champion and cup winner in the 1908/09 season. In the same season, Gómez de Parada was also the top scorer of the Primera Fuerza with a success rate of 75 percent .
In 1911, he became the owner of a former hacienda in Tacubaya , then an exquisite rural suburb of Mexico City . The trained architect had the associated country house, which is now the Russian Embassy, converted into a magnificent palace. He had a soccer field and a swimming pool built on the land behind the manor house. The area served as a training ground for CF México San Pedro de los Pinos , which he co-founded . CF México was accepted into the Primera Fuerza in 1912 and was the first Mexican representative of a league otherwise determined by foreign - predominantly British - teams. This club, with a number of English players in its ranks (!), Immediately won the championship of the 1912/13 season and Gómez de Parada made an important contribution with his five goals, which also made him top scorer of this round .
In 1920 he ended his active career and became a sports promoter. From 1924 to 1927 he was a member of the International Olympic Committee .
Later he occasionally traveled to Europe, where he took part in several polo tournaments and competed against the Spanish King Alfonso XIII, among others .
