Hubert Schulte (State Councilor)

Hubert Schulte (born November 16, 1951 in Ahaus ) is a German economist and former State Councilor and State Secretary ( SPD ) in Bremen , Berlin and Hamburg .

biography

Schulte studied economics at the University of Münster from 1970 to 1977 . From 1977 to 1980 he continued his training as a commercial trainee at the state administration of North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1980 to 1982 he was a consultant in the Federal Ministry of Finance and from 1982 to 1985 financial policy consultant in the SPD parliamentary group . He transferred in 1985 to the tax authorities of Hamburg and was until 1992 head of department for national financial matters and until 2000 head of the Office of Budget and Task Scheduler.

From 2000 to 2001 Schulte was State Councilor and Head of the Senate Chancellery in Hamburg and from 2003 to 2005 State Secretary in the Senate Department for Finance in Berlin . From the end of 2005 to 2011 he was head of the Senate Chancellery (CdS) in Bremen under Mayor Jens Böhrnsen (SPD). His successor was Olaf Joachim .

Since 2012 Schulte has been a member of the commission for determining the financial needs of the broadcasting corporations (KEF) on the proposal of the state of Bremen and since 2018 one of the two deputy chairmen. Even after his retirement he works as an author and lecturer on questions of state finances in Germany and on state financial equalization .

Schulte is a member of the SPD . He is married and has a son.
