Jorge Orlando Aravena Plaza (born April 22, 1958 in Santiago de Chile ) is a former Chilean football player on the position of striker and later coach .

career

Aravena began his professional career in 1978 at the CD Universidad Católica , with which he won both Copa Chile in 1983 and was Chilean champion in 1984 .

In between, he played on loan to Santiago Morning and Naval de Talcahuano in the early 1980s before leaving UC in the summer of 1985 and moving to Real Valladolid in the Spanish Primera División . He then played for Deportivo Cali in the Colombian League before moving to Mexico , where he won both the championship and the cup competition with Puebla FC in the 1989/90 season.

In 1991 he moved to the Brazilian Associação Portuguesa de Desportos and soon returned to his homeland, where he was under contract for one season each with Unión Española and Audax Italiano . With UE he won the Copa Chile again in the game year 1992 and at Audax Intaliano he started his coaching activity soon after finishing his active career.
