José-Luis "Puma" Carranza (born January 8, 1964 in Lima ) is a former Peruvian footballer, defender at "Universitario" and in the Peruvian selection.

He made his debut in 1986 with the football club "Universitario de Deportes", the only team he defended continuously for 19 years. He has won seven national championships and is the player who has participated in most of the classic matches between Universitario and Alianza Lima.

His last encounter as a professional was on December 26, 2004, when he took the lead after a free kick with one of the few goals the defender scored in his career.

In 2005 Carranza said goodbye to professional football with a friendly match. The game and the accompanying farewell show were broadcast live on Peruvian television.
