José Anahory

José Anahory (born April 8, 1991 in Portugal ; † on the night of September 7th to 8th, 2019 in Portugal) was a Portuguese musician who worked as a drummer for the band Os Naufragos and as a composer and music teacher.

Live and act

Anahory has been playing drums since he was six. In 2008 he won a youth competition for jazz drummers in Lisbon and began studying piano and guitar music there and in London at the London School of Music and jazz drums at the Escola Superior de Musica de Lisboa.

He later founded the jazz fusion band Ornitorrinco and worked as a music teacher for percussion at the improviso music school. In 2017 the CD of the band Os Naufragos "Viva Furia" was released, on which he can be heard as a drummer. Luís Represas was one of the best-known musicians with whom he worked .

Jose Anahory died on the night of September 7th to 8th, 2019. So far nothing is known about the cause of death.
