José Antonio Chang

José Antonio Chang Escobedo (born May 29, 1958 in Lima ) was Peruvian Prime Minister from September 14, 2010 to March 18, 2011 . He replaced Javier Velásquez Quesquén , who gave up his office so that he can run for the 2011 presidential election to succeed Alan García . Prior to that, Chang had been Peru's Minister of Education since July 28, 2006. Mr. Chang is an industrial engineer and was rector of the Universidad de San Martín de Porres . His successor was the previous Minister of Justice Rosario Fernández on March 18, 2011 .

Chang Escobedo studied in Lima at the Pontifical Catholic University , but had to leave it early due to poor performance.
