José Antonio Escuredo

José Antonio Escuredo Raimóndez (born January 19, 1970 in Salt ) is a former Spanish track cyclist .

José Antonio Escuredo was a specialist in short-term disciplines on the track; internationally he was particularly successful in the keirin and team sprint disciplines . Until 2009 he was Spanish champion 31 times in various track disciplines. In 1995 he held the world record in the 1000-meter time trial for a few weeks .

At the UCI track world championships in Manchester in 2000 Escuredo finished third in the team sprint together with his teammates Salvador Meliá and José Antonio Villanueva ; In 2004 he became vice world champion in keirin and team sprint (with Meliá and Villanueva). In 2006 he was again vice world champion in Keirin. Escuredo has also won world cup races ten times .

José Antonio Escuredo took part in the Olympic parts three times, in 1996 , 2000 and 2004 in Athens, where he won the silver medal in the Keirin.

In March 2010 Escuredo, who, alongside Joan Llaneras and José Moreno Periñan, was one of the most successful Spanish track cyclists, announced his retirement from active cycling.
