José Bianco
José Bianco (born November 21, 1908 in Buenos Aires , † April 24, 1986 ibid) was an Argentine journalist , writer and translator .
Bianco studied law at the Universidad de Buenos Aires , but dropped out without a degree. After a short time he became a freelancer for the magazine Sur and was able to work his way up to an important editor over the years. When he accepted an invitation from the Cuban cultural institute Casa de las Américas after the revolution in 1961 , there was a falling out with his boss Victoria Ocampo .
Bianco resigned and moved to the editorial team of the Editorial Universitaria de Buenos Aires (EUDEBA) that same year . He worked there until 1966 General Juan Carlos Onganía to power a coup . In the dictatorship that followed, Bianco lost his job.
On April 24, 1986, Bianco died of lung disease in Buenos Aires at the age of 78, where he found his final resting place.
