José Diego Álvarez Álvarez (born December 21, 1954 in Monforte de Lemos ) is a former Spanish football player .
Player career
Alvarez began his career at SD Eibar ( Sociedad Deportiva Eibar ) before moving to Real Sociedad San Sebastián in 1974 . He was the Spanish champion twice with the Basques and also won the Spanish Supercup in 1982. Alvarez ended his career in 1985.
Internationally he played once for the Spanish selection. He was in the squad for the 1980 European Football Championship in Italy , where Spain was eliminated in the group stage.
