José Joana André

José Joana André (born February 11, 1963 in Soyo , Zaire province ) is an Angolan economic manager and politician of the Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola (MPLA).

Life

José Joana André completed a degree in civil engineering and graduated with a Magister (Mestre em Engenharia Cívil) . He then worked as a civil engineer and between 1994 and 2000 he was head of a department in the Ministry of Public Works, where he was then National Director for Public Infrastructure from 2000 to 2010. At the same time he acted as coordinator of the technical executive office for projects between 2001 and 2010. From 2007 to 2012 he held the post of Vice-Minister for Construction and Public Works (Vice-Ministro da Construção e Obras Públicas) in the cabinets of Prime Ministers Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos (2007 to 2008) and António Paulo Kassoma (2008 to 2010) and in the presidential government of President José Eduardo dos Santos (2010 to 2012). At the same time he was State Secretary for Construction (Secretário de Estado da Construção) between 2010 and 2012 .

In 2010, José Joana André became governor of the province of Zaire and held this office for eight years until 2018. At the same time, he was the first secretary of the MPLA committee of the province of Zaire from 2010 to 2018. On October 12, 2018, he moved up for the Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola (MPLA) in the constituency of the province of Zaire as a member of the National Assembly (Assembleia Nacional) . In this he is a member of the 5th parliamentary commission (5ª Comissão: Economia e Finanças) , which is responsible for economics and finance. He is also a member of the MPLA Central Committee.
