José María Tasso

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

José María Tasso Tena , nickname Tachuela (born February 7, 1934 in Madrid , † February 9, 2003 ibid) was a Spanish actor .

Life

Tasso spent part of his childhood in France, where his mother had fled after the Spanish Civil War that cost his father his life. Back at home, Tasso gained his first stage experience in student performances during his enrollment in medicine, which was soon given up in favor of a degree in public relations.

In 1957 the tall, slim, boyish-looking Tasso made his screen debut in a comical supporting role in José María Elorrietas Mensajeros de paz . In the following years many small roles of a funny kind followed, which "Tachuela", as he was called by his fans, often played alongside popular stars of those years; so he shot with Marisol and Rocío Dúrcal , in whose films he also interpreted the character of "Flequillo". Although he was not a performer with abundant skills, he was able to achieve a remarkable rank as a star for the limited scope of his roles and appearances.

After his marriage to Eugenia Vilallonga y Martínez Campos , who came from noble families - the marriage had five sons - he devoted himself more to his second mainstay, running a restaurant in La Granja de San Ildefonso . A phase of increased activity as an actor followed between 1967 and 1970, which was then almost completely on hold for eleven years. Tasso, who also worked occasionally as a voice actor and was involved in cartoon series, now played mostly in television series and worked in projects with artist friends such as Pedro Almodóvar or Luis García Berlanga . Musical projects can also be found in Tasso's work.
