action

As an alleged priest, L. Edwin Kean transports a load of Bibles containing dynamite and a time fuse. Since the carriage also carries $ 400,000, it is attacked by Moses, who also takes the mailbag with the alleged Bibles. He only escapes the explosion with difficulty. When the coach arrives at the bank in Springwood, the gambler Clay Watson tries to cash in his winnings of $ 130,000. He finds out that Moses and Kean teamed up and robbed the bank. The three men now spend a lot of time stealing money from each other and tricking them. To do this, they enter into coalitions and false weddings and not avoid a fist fight. Finally, together they defend the booty against the attack of a group of Mexican bandits led by Garrito. Eventually the army comes to take the money.

criticism

“The sympathetic team of actors Sabáto-Saxon-Wolff [...] is jointly responsible for the success of the exercise. The oil in the gears of the film is the remarkably fluid staging of Castellaris, in which unusual camera perspectives also have their place, ”writes Christian Keßler . The lexicon of international films also gave a very positive verdict : “Somewhat gaudy, but enjoyable parody of popular western and gangster films.” The Italian colleagues at Segnalazini Cinematografiche also pointed out that the film had the character of “a happy song from a picaresque novel”.

Remarks

The soundtrack of the film was released on LP (Cinevox-Mdf 33/7). At 267 million lire, it brought in an above-average amount.
