José Natividad González Parás

José Natividad González Parás (born March 30, 1949 in Monterrey ) is a Mexican lawyer and politician of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI). From 2003 to 2009 he was governor of the state of Nuevo León .

González Parás, also known as Nati, studied law at the Free University of Nuevo León . Years later he received his doctorate in political science from the Sorbonne in Paris . In 1997 he stood for the first time in the gubernatorial elections in the state of Nuevo León for the PRI and lost to Fernando Canales Clariond of the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN). In the following gubernatorial elections in 2003 he stood for an alliance of PRI and other parties and won against Mauricio Fernández Garza from PAN.
