José Pérez Serer (born May 4, 1966 in Quart de les Valls , Spain ) is a Spanish football coach and former professional footballer.

Career

Serer began his career in the reserve team of FC Barcelona . On October 30, 1988, he made his professional debut in a league game against Real Zaragoza . It should be his only game for FC Barcelona.

For the 1989/90 season Serer moved to newly promoted RCD Mallorca . With this, the Spaniard secured relegation twice before being relegated bottom of the table in the 1991/92 season. After the following season, the direct promotion to the relegation matches against Albacete Balompié was missed, it attracted Serer to FC Valencia .

Serer made 30 league appearances for Valencia in the 1993/94 season and took part in the UEFA Cup for the first and only time in his career . In the following season, however, he lost his regular place. When the situation did not improve in the 1995/96 season, Serer moved to Villarreal in the Segunda División during the winter break .

In Villarreal Serer had in the 1997/98 season as a regular player large share in the promotion to the Primera División . Here, however, the Spaniard only made eight appearances and the club was relegated again. At the resurgence in the 1999/2000 season Serer was then hardly involved with only one league game. After the season he ended his career.

In the summer of 2012 he took over his first coaching position as head coach at the Kazakh club Qairat Almaty .
