The Primera División 1993/94 was the 63rd season of the highest Spanish football league . It started on September 5, 1993 and ended on May 15, 1994.
Defending champions FC Barcelona became Spanish champions for the 14th time. For the third time in a row, the Catalans took the lead on the final matchday.
By the 37th matchday, Deportivo La Coruña had been in first place for 24 consecutive weeks. In the final spurt, the Galicians made three goalless draws in the last four games and missed their first championship title at the end of the season due to a direct comparison .
