José Pedro Fuenzalida Gana (born February 22, 1985 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean football player who is under contract with the CSD Colo-Colo .

Career

society

José Fuenzalida first played at Universidad Católica Santiago and moved there from youth to the first division team in 2004. In the first year the right winger established himself in the Primera División and made 25 appearances and 4 goals. In the second year he won the championship title with the team in the Clausura . In 2007 he was runner-up again before moving to the record champions Colo Colo Santiago within the capital .

In the Apertura 2008, in which the team was runner-up, he only competed 7 times and was loaned to the CD O'Higgins from Rancagua in the south of Santiago in the summer . He stayed there for a year and a half, during which he was not only a regular player, but also increased his scoring risk with 8 goals in one year. That's why Colo Colo brought him back in 2010, where he has been a regular since then and in 2013 played his 100th first division game for the club. In 2014 he won the Clausura with the team and thus the 30th championship title in the club's history. After the Apertura had already started, Fuenzalida moved to the Boca Juniors in August .

National team

José Fuenzalida played for his country as a youth player at the 2005 U-20 World Cup and the 2008 Toulon tournament . When he moved to Colo Colo Santiago in the same year , he was also appointed to the Chilean senior team for the first time . He played four times this year for the selection of his country and made several appearances before the 2010 World Cup . He was also in the preparatory squad for the World Cup, but ultimately did not make it into the 23-man squad for South Africa.

Then he fell out of focus of the national team, only in the run-up to the next World Cup he was used again. Although he had only played friendly matches until then, in June 2014 he was included in Chile's 23-strong squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. In the three preliminary round games he was not used there.
