Life

At the age of nine Schmottlach was on stage with Tana Schanzara and Ährwin Weiss. The discoverer was Peter Kronsbein from Herne , who in turn was traveling with Jürgen Marcus in the early 1970s . The first own sound carrier was an MC , which was produced and published by the parents in 1989 with the help of the Herner producer Frank Paetzhold. From 1992 to 1995 he was singer and bassist in the school band of the comprehensive school in Herne-Sodingen under the direction of Ingo Marmulla . His first own band were Die Skirogen (1993-1996), of which there was only one demo tape (1994).

In 1996 he finally founded Überflussig , a German-speaking pop-punk band in the style of the crashing carrier pigeons and doctors. Through various albums (and various record contracts) came a small high in 2005 when the band appeared on breakfast TV, talk and late-night shows, as well as in listener charts.

Schmottlach has composed and recorded soundtracks for short and feature films under various artist names. In the movie "No future war yesterday" (2014) he played a small role (next to Fabian Harloff ) and sang a song with actress Olivia Klemke (together with Superfluous).

In 2007 there was a short appearance on " Unter uns " on RTL. Short films (with Maria Furtwängler, among others ) followed.
