Josef Adloff

Josef Adloff , also Joseph Adloff , (born August 24, 1865 in Reutenburg , † July 19, 1939 in Strasbourg ) was a Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

Adloff, a son of the farmer Michel Adloff, attended the seminary ( Grand Séminaire ) in Strasbourg from 1886 and was ordained a priest in 1890 . In 1892 he went to the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, where he earned a doctorate in canon law in 1894 . After a brief activity as secretary to the Bishop of Strasbourg, he was appointed professor of apologetics and moral theology at the Strasbourg seminary in 1895 . In 1927 he was appointed titular canon at the Strasbourg Cathedral .

Adloff presented several publications on confession and soul guidance.
