Josef Bauer (born January 12, 1934 in Wels , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian artist.

Life and work

After studying painting at the art school in Linz , Bauer mainly made plastic works. In 1994 he was awarded the Culture Prize of the City of Linz, and a year later he received the Culture Prize of the State of Upper Austria for fine arts. In 2017 he was awarded the Alfred Kubin Prize .
