Josef Becker (born September 8, 1875 in Grossenlüder , † April 5, 1937 in Berlin ) was a German politician of the Center Party .

Life

After attending elementary school in Großenlüder from 1890 to 1893, an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in Gelsenkirchen . After a few years in this profession, he was district manager of the Central Association of Christian Construction Workers in Frankfurt am Main from 1903 to 1907. In 1908 he was appointed to the executive board of the German National Insurance and in 1914 a member of the board of directors of the War Committee for Consumer Interests . He was also a member of the price inspection office for the German Reich and Greater Berlin from 1915 and of the central office at the War Office from 1917 .

Becker was 1919 /20 member of the Weimar National Assembly for the Center Party .
