Josef Breitner (sculptor)
Josef Breitner (born December 19, 1864 in Vienna ; † November 22, 1930 ibid) was an Austrian sculptor .
Breitner studied from 1879 to 1885 and from 1888 to 1891 at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under August Kühne and Otto König . From 1895 he worked as a teacher, from 1898 to 1920 as a professor of sculpture at the School of Applied Arts. His students included Wilhelm Bormann , Jakob Löw , Hans Pontiller , Josef Thorak and Ernst Wagner . Breitner was a member of the Künstlerhaus in Vienna.
Among other things, he made the statue of Duke Heinrich Jasomirgott at the Schottenkirche in Vienna.
