Josef Dötsch (born December 9, 1954 in Mülheim-Kärlich ) is a German politician ( CDU ). Since 2006 he has been a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life and work

Dötsch attended elementary school from 1961 to 1969 and then completed an agricultural apprenticeship in his parents' company by 1972. Then he completed a vocational training school and technical college in Bad Kreuznach by 1974. From 1974 to 1975 he did military service and then studied electrical communications engineering until 1979. For one year he worked as a system engineer for measurement technology in Neuwied, then from 1980 to 1990 at the Federal Office for Defense Technology and Procurement in Koblenz. From 1991 to 2006 he was plant manager in Mülheim-Kärlich and in this role was largely responsible for the economic development of the Tauris leisure pool .

Josef Dötsch is married and has two grown children.

politics

Dötsch is a member of the CDU and was a member of the municipal council in Weißenthurm from 1984 to 1991. In 1990 he was the second alderman in Mülheim-Kärlich. In 1996 he became deputy district chairman of the CDU district association Mayen-Koblenz and is currently also deputy chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group. On May 18, 2006 Dötsch became a member of the state parliament, where he is a member of the Committee for Media and Multimedia and the Committee for Economics and Transport. Since 2010 he has been spokesman for the parliamentary group's media policy. In addition, Dötsch is chairman of the CDU community association Weißenthurm.
