Josef Edler

Josef Edler (born July 6, 1941 in Sausal ) is an Austrian organization representative and politician ( SPÖ ) at rest. Edler was a member of the Austrian National Council between 1992 and 2002 .

education and profession

Edler attended elementary school in Gleinstätten from 1947 to 1952 and secondary school in Eisenerz from 1952 to 1955 . Edler then trained as a fitter at Alpine-Montan in Eisenerz from 1955 to 1958 and did military service in 1961.

Edler worked from 1958 to 1963 as a metalworker at Waagner Biro and from 1963 to 1997 in the transport service of the Austrian Federal Railways . Edler was executive secretary in the railway workers 'union from 1987 to 1997 and from 1998 was an organizational representative (freelancer) in the railway workers' union.

politics

Between 1985 and 1987, Josef Edler was involved as a staff representative in the ÖBB's Vienna Transport Service Directorate and was honorary vice-president of the Vienna Chamber of Labor from 1989 to 1997 . From 1990 Edler was also chairman of the parliamentary group of social democratic trade unionists in Vienna.

Edler represented the SPÖ in the National Council from November 6, 1992 to December 19, 2002, although he was not a member of the National Council for a few days to a few weeks in 1994 and 1995, as he moved up to the National Council after the formation of the government. After the National Council election in 2002 , in which he no longer stood, Edler retired.
