Josef Faist

Josef Faist (born April 23, 1950 in Gratwein ) is an Austrian educator.

Life

He attended the Gratwein elementary school from 1956 to 1960 and the Episcopal Gymnasium in Graz from 1960 to 1968 . After graduating from high school on June 14, 1968, he studied theology in the seminary at the KFU Graz from 1968 (until 1970) and in this context youth group work in the Graz Marienpfarre with chaplain Wolfgang Pucher, restructuring of the youth group Graz, establishment of the "action team of the kjs -graz ", 1st team leader. At the same time as studying theology at the Karl Franzens University in Graz, he attended the Federal Pedagogical Academy in Graz from 1970 to 1972. In 1972 he became an elementary school teacher and religion teacher in Neudorf near Passail and founded and led the catechist working group in the Rein dean's office. In 1976 he was qualified to teach RE at secondary schools. On January 1, 1977 he became prov. Professor in the staff of the Ped. Academies. He was the first practice school teacher at the RPA at the Institute of School Sisters in Graz and a teacher for elementary school didactics, church singing, media studies, extracurricular church child labor, practical supervision and coordination. Since 1973 he has been a consultant in diocesan adult education (family department, educational work, pastoral office). From 1974 onwards he worked as a collaborator and consultant for the advanced training of catechists in the Styrian deaneries and the diocese (religious education institute). From 1975 he was a consultant for catechist training in Burgenland, accompanying regional training in the south (Stegersbach-Oberwart-Oberpullendorf) On September 1, 1981, he became head of the Rel. Institutes Graz (representative and spokesman for the ÖRPI at the German Catechist Association ). On November 3, 1988, he received the graduate degree for specialist theology at KFU Graz. On June 1, 1990, he was appointed director of the RPI Graz by the Federal President. On September 30, 2006, he received the decree to become a qualified teacher for elementary school teachers. On October 1st, 2010 he retired as a professor at universities of teacher education and RPI director of the Graz-Seckau diocese . On March 23, 2011 he was awarded the professional title of Hofrat by the Federal President. On August 15, 2015, he received the decree of appointment as a lecturer for the university course Religious Education at the Philosophical-Theological College Benedict XVI. Heiligenkreuz .
