Josef Follmann

Josef Follmann (born September 17, 1875 in Ruhrort ; † January 28, 1938 in Duisburg ) was a German metallurgist and manager of the steel industry.

Life

Josef Follmann studied metallurgy at the Technical University of Charlottenburg and the Bergakademie Freiberg . In 1899 he became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Freiberg . After graduating, he began his professional career at Phönix AG in Ruhrort-Lahr. In 1904 he moved to Röchling's iron and steel works in Völklingen as an operations assistant . In 1910 he became head of operations at the Westphalian wire industry in Hamm . From 1912 to 1922 he worked for Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-AG , Rothe Erde department in Eschweiler . He then moved to the Phoenix Hoerder Verein as steelworks director . In 1926, when it was founded, he became a member of the board of the Vereinigte Stahlwerke AG , responsible as technical and smelting director for the wire works of the Westphalian Union in Hamm.
