Josef Hammerl (born March 1, 1932 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian cyclist .
Career
After a ninth place in the previous year, Hammerl was second overall behind the Styrian Franz Deutsch (1928-2011) in the third edition of the Tour of Austria in 1951 .
In April 1953 he won the second Forchtenauer Schlossberg race in Eisenstadt over four kilometers with a winning time of 10:40 minutes.
In 1953 he was also third on the third stage of the Tour of Austria 1953 from Klagenfurt (Carinthia) to Lienz (Tyrol) behind Franz Deutsch and the Styrian Ivan Bosek .
