Josef Herz (agricultural scientist)

Josef Herz (* 1939 ) is a German agricultural scientist .

Life

Herz studied agricultural science with a degree in agriculture. In 1974 he was at the Technical University of Munich with a thesis on the protein and energy requirements of male turkeys doctorate .

In 1979 he received a reputation as a professor of animal nutrition at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan in Freising . From 1981 to 1983 he was vice-president, from 1989 to his retirement in 2005 he was president of the Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences.

Act

Josef Herz played a key role in the expansion of the academic and structural development of the Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences .

In 1995 he was elected by the Conference of Presidents and Rectors of Bavarian Universities of Applied Sciences (Bayerische Rektorenkonferenz) as deputy chairman and from 1997 to 2003 as their chairman. He was deputy for many years. Chairman of the accreditation agency " Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute ACQUIN ".

Josef Herz holds an honorary doctorate from the National Agricultural University of Ukraine in Kiev. In 2003 he was honored with the Bavarian Order of Merit by the Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber .

He is a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Agilolfia Freising in the CV .
