Josef Hesse

Josef Hesse (born September 28, 1918 in Drolshagen ; † October 16, 2010 ) was a German civil servant in local government, local politician and homeland researcher.

Life

Until 1955 Hesse worked in the administration of the Olpe district . During this time he did military service and military service for ten and a half years and spent three and a half years in captivity. In 1949 he resumed his work in Olpe. He then worked for a short time as a temporary official director in Drolshagen. In 1955 he went to the Rhineland Regional to Dusseldorf and moved with this later as a country bailiff to Cologne . In 1964 he was elected for Bensberg in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreisag, in which he led the affairs of the CDU district parliamentary group . On July 1, 1966, he took over from Paul Büscher as the township director of Engelskirchen . On March 31, 1982, he retired.

Works

Hesse dealt with local history topics for life. The chronicle of Engelskirchen in the 19th and 20th centuries, written by him and containing around 250 pages, dates from 1985 . Together with Hartmut Neuhoff he designed Engelskirchen - pictures of a mountainous place . The first edition appeared in 1990, the second edition in the following year.

About Drolshagen, Hesse wrote the history of the parish and monastery Drolshagen (1971) and Drolshagen, Pictures of a City (1977). He also created numerous articles for the local voices from the Olpe district and many commemorative publications. In the Heimatverein Drolshagener Land he took over the management of the working group Heimatkunde, Geschichte, Customs for a long time. For his commitment he received the Golden Ring of Honor from the city of Drolshagen.
