Josef Hofer (musician, 1955)
Josef Hofer , called Pepi Hofer (born January 29, 1955 in Fieberbrunn in Tyrol ), is a Swiss cellist and author .
Life
After training at the teaching seminar in Sargans , he studied with Walter Grimmer at the Bern Conservatory and with Gerhard Mantel at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . Additional studies followed with Pierre Fournier and Maurice Gendron , in chamber music with Max Rostal and composition with Sándor Veress .
Hofer was the editor of the Compendia for Cello / Violin, a 15-volume didactically oriented collection of material, published by DOWANI International. He is the author of the book "The Horse in the Cello Lesson - Practical Examples for Child-Appropriate Instrumental Lessons Using Impact Pedagogy". Pepi Hofer is the director and founder of the "Friends of Cello", a cello orchestra with up to 60 participants. He teaches at the Liechtenstein Music School in Vaduz and at the Cantonal School in Sargans . Hofer lives in Liechtenstein .
