Josef Hofstetter

Josef Hofstetter (born July 24, 1908 in Bolken , † March 5, 1986 in Solothurn , reformed , legal domicile in Bolken) was a Swiss politician (FDP) .

Life

Josef Hofstetter, son of Josef Hofstetter senior, began studying law , which he completed with the academic degree of Dr. iur. completed. He subsequently worked as a lawyer . To this end, Hofstetter headed the legal department of Suva in Lucerne , then from 1948 until retirement he was in charge of human resources at Von Roll Holding AG in Gerlafingen . In the Swiss Army , in which he last held the rank of colonel , he was in command of the Solothurn 49th Infantry Regiment.

Josef Hofstetter was married to Dora-Nelli, born Marti. He died on March 5, 1986 at the age of 78 in Solothurn.

Political career

Josef Hofstetter's political career, a member of the Free Democratic Party, began in 1949 when he was elected to the Solothurn Cantonal Council , of which he was a member until 1957. He then took a seat on the National Council for the canton from 1959 to 1971 .

Based on his professional tasks, he was particularly committed to economic and socio-political issues, such as the AHV reviews and the reorganization of employment contract law.
