Josef Kiesl

Josef Kiesl (born August 24, 1887 in Sarleinsbach , Upper Austria ; † August 17, 1936 in Linz , Upper Austria) was an Austrian farmer and politician .

Life

Kiesl grew up as one of 14 children of the high-rise builder from Hochhaus, attended elementary school and then worked on his father's farm. In 1909 he married and had two children. Right at the beginning of the First World War he was seriously wounded (shot in the stomach) and dismissed as unfit for the field. Since his father died in the same year, he took over the family farm. In the interwar period he held various functions ( Upper Austrian People's Loan , Cattle Breeding Association , Electricity Cooperative ), but he made particular merits in the fire service . He died of gastric bleeding at the age of 49, probably as a result of his war injury.

politics

Josef Kiesl was not only Deputy Mayor of Pfarrkirchen im Mühlkreis , but from 1926 to 1934 a member of the state parliament for the Christian Social Party . In addition, he was a member of the regional railway council , district chairman of the Austrian farmers' union and the Catholic People's Association , district leader of the Fatherland Front and the Ostmärkische Sturmscharen . He was modest but proactive and was highly regarded in the state parliament.
