Josef Klüh

Josef Klüh (born January 28, 1942 in Düsseldorf ) is a German entrepreneur . He is the sole owner of the Düsseldorf company Klüh Service Management .

Life

Klüh completed a commercial apprenticeship and in 1964 passed the master's examination in the building cleaning trade. After his father died in the war, he took over the family's small cleaning company in 1962, which his mother had initially continued to run. He expanded the company into a large group in the services sector. In 2018 the company employed around 50,000 people worldwide; the annual turnover was 806 million euros. According to the German Manager-Magazin, Josef Klüh had assets of around 300 million euros in 2013. This put him in 375th place on the list of the 500 richest Germans.

In 1986 Josef Klüh established the “Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation in Science and Research”. The annual award is endowed with 25,000 euros.

From 1984 to 1998 Josef Klüh was President of the Düsseldorfer EG . It was the longest period of success for the Düsseldorf ice hockey team, which became German champions five times during this period. Klüh is also a member of the Fortuna Düsseldorf football club .

Josef Klüh is married and has three children.

Tax investigations

Klüh resigned his function as President of DEG after investigations into the tax office and resigned in 1998 with the entire board. The association had channeled income past the tax office. After a voluntary disclosure, Josef Klüh paid 1.5 million DM to the tax authorities. In addition, the Düsseldorf public prosecutor's office investigated Klüh Security in 2008 for tax evasion, but the proceedings were discontinued with no result.
