Josef Kunz

Josef Kunz (born June 1, 1945 in Grosswangen ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

After compulsory schooling, Kunz trained as a farmer. He soon took over the farm from his father, which has been in the family since the 16th century.

In the 1995 parliamentary elections , Kunz was elected to the National Council, to which he was a member until 2011. He was in the Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy (UREK, 1999-2007), later in the Finance Commission and the Commission for Science, Education and Culture.

On March 20, 2009, Kunz succeeded National Councilor Yvette Estermann as party president of SVP Lucerne.

He was also known for his role in the documentary Mais im Bundeshuus .
