Josef Manner
Josef Manner (born July 26, 1865 in Vienna ; † May 5, 1947 there ) was an Austrian entrepreneur .
At the age of 25, Josef Manner bought both the location and the concession in Wildenmanngasse from a small chocolate manufacturer. There Manner founded the “Chocoladenfabrik Josef Manner” on March 1, 1890, thereby laying the foundation for the Manner confectionery company . In 1895 he invented the Manner wafers with hazelnut cream , which made a significant contribution to the company's success. Manner created numerous social institutions for his employees (around 3,000 in 1912) and has received numerous honors and awards.
