Josef Matussek

Josef Matussek (born December 26, 1915 in Berlin ; † May 11, 2000 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Josef Matussek first studied Catholic theology and philosophy , which he completed with the state examination.

From June 1952 to March 1954 Matussek was City Assessor in the Bocholt City Administration , and from April 1954 to September 1962 he was deputy for the social and health services in Oberhausen . From October 1962 to September 1970 he was mayor of the city of Stuttgart , in this function responsible for health and social issues. Rolf Thieringer was his successor in 1970.

His brother is the psychiatrist and university professor Paul Matussek . His five sons include the journalist Matthias Matussek , the university professor Peter Matussek and the diplomat Thomas Matussek .
