Josef Mayer (politician, 1898)
Josef Mayer (born April 29, 1898 in Vienna ; † January 6, 1948 in Linz , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP).
education and profession
After attending elementary and community school , he went to a commercial advanced training school and learned the trade of machine fitter and lathe operator . He became foreman of the state railways in Linz.

- 1919–1938: Member of the Union of Christian Railway Workers in Austria
- 1927–1938: Chairman of the Upper Austria Regional Association of the Union of Christian Railway Workers in Austria
- 1923–1938: Member and functionary of the Catholic labor movement in Upper Austria
