Josef Mohnl

Josef Mohnl (born July 17, 1945 in Vienna , † September 25, 1991 in Tulln an der Donau ) was an Austrian secondary school teacher and politician ( SPÖ ). Mohnl was a member of the Federal Council , a member of the Lower Austrian regional parliament and from 1988 to 1991 a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government .

Mohnl attended compulsory school and then switched to the federal teacher training institute in St. Pölten. In 1964 he passed the school leaving examination for teaching at elementary schools and in 1966 he passed the teaching qualification test for elementary schools. Between 1967 and 1969 Mohnl worked as a primary school teacher, from 1969 as a secondary school teacher at the secondary school in Zwentendorf an der Donau . He was also a member of the district school council.

Mohnl represented the SPÖ in the Zwentendorf municipal council from 1971 and was mayor between 1983 and 1991. He was also the managing district party chairman of the SPÖ and district chairman of the Socialist Teachers' Association of Austria (SLÖ). Mohnl represented the SPÖ Lower Austria from October 1, 1982 to May 14, 1986 in the Federal Council and on May 15, 1986 moved to the Lower Austrian Landtag, where he also took over the function of club chairman from 1987. On November 17, 1988, Mohnl resigned his office as a member of parliament and was elected as a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government. He held the office until his death, where he had a fatal accident in a traffic accident.
