Josef Moosbrugger (born June 30, 1966 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian Chamber of Agriculture official. Since 1999 he has been president of the Chamber of Agriculture of Vorarlberg since May 2018 he has been president of the Presidential Conference of the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture .

Life

Josef Moosbrugger attended the agricultural college in Hohenems . He began his political career as a functionary of the rural youth and the young farmers, in 1991 he became a member of the chamber council and in 1999 he was president of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Agriculture . He is also chairman of the Vorarlberger Waldbesitzerverband, chairman of Ländle Qualitätsprodukte Marketing GmbH and chairman of the cattle breeding cooperative Dornbirn .

From 1995 to 2018 he was city ​​councilor for the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) in Dornbirn, where he was most recently responsible for the departments of agriculture and forestry, families as well as kindergartens and childcare.

In the Vorarlberger Bauernbund he is deputy chairman, at federal level he is chairman of the dairy farming committee in the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture , where he also served as vice-president until 2018. On February 5, 2018, at the meeting of the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture Presidents, he was unanimously nominated to succeed Hermann Schultes as President of the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture; the election took place on May 15, 2018. Julian Fässler succeeded him as Dornbirn city council in April 2018 . On May 26, 2018, Moosbrugger also took over the chairmanship of the Vorarlberger Bauernbund , a sub-organization of the Vorarlberg People's Party , from former Provincial Councilor Erich Schwärzler . As part of the coalition negotiations for the formation of a government in 2019 , he is negotiating in the main group climate protection, environment, infrastructure and agriculture.
