Josef Nöbauer

Josef Nöbauer (born September 10, 1944 in Freistadt ) is an Austrian painter , graphic artist , photographer and university lecturer .

Live and act

Nöbauer was a member of the Vienna Boys' Choir from 1956 to 1958. He graduated from the teacher training college in Linz from 1960 to 1965 and studied with Max Weiler at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1965 to 1969 . In 1973 he accepted a grant from the Federal Ministry for Education and the Arts for a stay in Rome. From 1973 to 1977 he was a lecturer with Max Weiler and from 1981 to 1982 with Arnulf Rainer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Since 1982 he has been a member of the artists' association MAERZ . He created the almost 17 square meter, four-part drawing by Mikhail Gorbachev , which was created between 1991 and 1993 and was auctioned in 2007.
