Josef Nagler (born November 18, 1922 in Bregenz , † January 25, 1997 in Vandans ) was an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and surveying technician. From 1972 to 1974 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Nagler first attended elementary school in Bregenz and then switched to the lower level of the Bregenz grammar school. He served at the front during World War II and was injured in the war. He had previously been arrested by the National Socialists in April 1940 and deported via Innsbruck to the Dachau concentration camp . Professionally, he worked for 42 years as a surveying technician at Vorarlberger Illwerke AG in Schruns.

Politics and functions

Nagler was a member of the Freedom Party of Austria and was active within the party between 1963 and 1988 as a member of the state party executive of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. He was also a member of the regional party leadership of the FPÖ Vorarlberg and its social officer. Local politics he worked from 1965 to 1972 as a member of the municipal council of Vandans, after which he moved as a deputy of the constituency Bludenz for Karl Vonbank on 23 February 1972 in the Vorarlberg Landtag, where he remained until November 3 1,974th He was a member of the Landtag on the Agriculture Committee, a member of the Social Policy Committee, a substitute member of the Economics Committee and a substitute member of the Culture Committee.

In addition to his political mandates, Nagler was active as a member of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor from 1959 to 1982. He also served as its vice-president from 1969 to 1979 and was also a board member of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor from 1969 to 1982. He also worked as chairman of the working group of liberal workers in Vorarlberg, was a member of the social policy, economic policy and housing loan committee of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor and a member and parent representative in the Bludenz district school council. In terms of sport, he was involved as chairman of the winter sports club (WSV) Vandans, chairman of the Montafon ski club and as a founding member of the Vandans tennis club.

Private

Josef Nagler was born as the son of the train driver Roman Nagler, who came from Lower Austria but worked for the Bregenzerwaldbahn, and his wife Katharina. In 1958 he married Ingrid Loretz, who came from Partennen, and had three daughters between 1960 and 1966.
