Karl Vonbank

Karl Vonbank (born December 7, 1895 in Braz ; † May 27, 1975 in Feldkirch ) was an Austrian politician ( NSDAP or VdU / FPÖ ) and farmer. From 1959 to 1972 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

After attending the elementary school in Braz, Vonbank did his military service in the First World War between October 1915 and November 1918 . He graduated from the Mehrerau agricultural college between 1923 and 1924 and worked from May 1923 to October 1938 as the manager of the Gaisbühel estate. In October 1938 he finally moved back to his parents 'house and took over his parents' farm.

Politics and functions

Vonbank belonged to the provisional Nazi state government between March and July 1938 and became a party member of the NSDAP on May 1, 1938. Between 1938 and May 1945 he held the office of mayor of Innerbraz and from June 1942 until the end of the war he was district farmer leader of Bludenz . In addition, from September 1, 1939 to May 1945, he held the intra-party office of local group leader of the NSDAP in Braz. Vonbank joined the newly founded Association of Independents in 1949 and then became a member of the successor party, the FPÖ. Until 1972 he had the internal party function of a member of the state party executive and was a member of the state party leadership of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. He was also an agricultural consultant for the FPÖ Vorarlberg and a member of the Federal Agricultural Committee of the FPÖ.

From 1960 he represented the FPÖ in the municipal council of Innerbraz and, as a member of the Bludenz constituency , was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from October 29, 1959 to January 24, 1972, although he resigned from the state parliament in 1972 by waiving his mandate. In the state parliament he was a member of the agricultural committee and at times a member of the economic committee.

Vonbank also acted from 1951 as chairman of the Bazül-Tritt alpine interest group, was a member of the association board, deputy chairman and chairman of the Vorarlberg Brown Cattle Breeding Association and chairman of the cattle breeding association in Braz. He was also involved as a member of the supervisory board of the Raiffeisenkasse Braz, was chairman of the Braz agricultural community and a member of the Klostertaler Kameradschaftsbund. He was also chairman of the Braz Comradeship Association and a member of the supervisory board of the Braz savings and loan fund.

Private

Karl Vonbank was the son of the farmer Gebhard Vonbank (1868-1937) and his wife Ludwina Vonbank (1870-1954), née Burtscher. He married Cäcilia Dietrich (1898–1947) from Bürs in 1924 and had five daughters and one son, who were born between 1926 and 1939. After the death of his first wife, Vonbank married Sabine Widerin (1897–1975), who came from Auserbranz, in 1948, although the marriage had no children.
