Josef Nolte (priest)

Josef Nolte (born August 15, 1781 in Obernfeld , Untereichsfeld , † August 1, 1863 in Heiligenstadt ) was the episcopal commissioner and cathedral chapter . He was an honorary citizen of Heiligenstadt.

Nolte was ordained a priest in 1805. From 1811 to 1838 he was pastor in Wingerode and dean of the dean's office in Beuren . After that he was pastor of Liebfrauen in Heiligenstadt until 1863. In 1838 he was also appointed Episcopal Commissioner, that is, the representative of the Bishop of Paderborn for the geographically distant Eichsfeld .

He was a knight of the Red Eagle Order II. Class and Honorary Dome of Paderborn. In 1839 he became the first provost after the Martinsstift was abolished in 1802.
